Chapter 122
Damian, who got up after her, asked with a strangely refreshed look.
“So, do you have any more questions?”
“Hmph.” Lilliana pouted and glared at Damian.
“Forget it! I know you’re in cahoots with my brother! Traitor!”
Damian chuckled, and Lilliana lightly punched him.
“It’s late. If you have no more questions, please go to sleep.”
“Hmph! I’ll sleep even if you don’t tell me to.”
As she strode out of the room, Damian called out to her, “Lilliana, please don’t barge into my room like this again.”
This was the first time Lilliana had seen Damian draw such a clear line, and she asked with an awkward expression.
“Were you… upset?”
“I wasn’t upset, but it would be better if I were.”
“What does that mean?”
“Well…” Damian smiled with drowsy eyes.
“Interpret it as you like, Lilliana.”
Instead of answering, Lilliana stepped out of the room and looked up at Damian. He said with a satisfied look, “Good night.”
“Yeah.”
And the door closed.
Lilliana returned to her room and sat on the bed. She let out a small sigh, and the sound of a pounding heart still echoed in her ears like an auditory hallucination.
She didn’t fully understand Damian’s feelings or the details of his situation. But…
“Oh my…”
Lilliana cupped her cheeks in her hands. They felt hot.
“What do I do…”
She fidgeted while still sitting.
“What do I do?”
For a while, Lilliana repeated those words like a parrot, unsure what the question was or what answer she sought.

Soliel looked at Casey with great interest. Casey blinked back at Soliel with wide eyes.
“So this is Lilliana’s brother? His name is…”
“Casey Carnell.”
“Ah, yes. I remember Pascal mentioning that name. Does he have stronger spirit powers?”
“Since he absorbed most of the spirit power that was meant for me while we were in our mother’s womb, he’s closer to a spirit than a human.”
Lilliana explained, and Soliel exclaimed in admiration.
“Such a phenomenon can occur when twins are born.”
Soliel clearly wanted to ask more questions and conduct various tests, but like a seasoned wizard, she restrained herself and looked at the others.
“So, why are you here today?”
Behind Casey, Damian, and Lilliana stood Annette, looking at Soliel with great curiosity.
Soliel offered tea to the group of guests who had arrived all at once and ordered the stone golem to bring tea.
Annette watched with wide eyes. Then, realizing she was the only one distracted, she cleared her throat and focused on the conversation between the other four.
“We brought a golem to ask you about…”
Casey placed the crow-like golem on the clean tea table. Lilliana made a face as if to say, “Was that really necessary?” but Soliel remained unfazed.
“It’s the work of the wizard Seidel Luriantz.”
“Seidel Luriantz?”
“Why? Do you know him?”
“Of course I do. He’s a famous golem wizard.”
Soliel frowned, examining the crow, then nodded.
“Judging by the filler and assembly method, it does bear Seidel’s characteristics. Using parts of living creatures is a key feature of the golems he creates. Where did you get this?”
“Seidel is looking for us,” Casey stated.
Soliel, not quite understanding, furrowed her brows. Lilliana added an explanation.
“I told you before that the royalists were after me, right? Well, that person has joined them. So he’s looking for me and my brother. This crow is a golem that was following us.”
“Seidel Luriantz? No way.”
Soliel looked surprised by the unexpected news.
“He’s not the type to get involved in politics enough to join the royalists. He’s a bit of an eccentric, but it’s harder to find a wizard who isn’t, so that’s not surprising… He’s not evil enough to use forbidden magic; he’s just obsessed with golem research. Why would someone like that join the royalists?”
No one had an answer to Soliel’s question.
“We can ask him directly once we catch him.”
Damian handed Soliel what he had been holding – the magic stone that was the core of the crow golem.
Soliel examined the magic stone, turning it over and over, and then used tweezers to extract the bullet lodged in the center. After assessing the damage, Soliel nodded.
“It will be difficult to completely restore this magic stone.”
“Then is it impossible to track Seidel’s whereabouts?” Damian asked.
Soliel looked at the crow golem’s shell they had brought and tilted her head.
“It’s difficult to completely restore it, but it’s possible to read what commands are embedded in it. If this golem has a return command, it will probably go back to Seidel. However, since I’m not its creator, it will take some time to decipher how the magic was cast.”
Soliel left room for the possibility of failure.
“I’ll try, but don’t get your hopes up.”
“And I have one more question. Is it okay for wizards to use magic to interfere in human politics? You said before that wizards who use magic that brings chaos to the world are imprisoned. Then why is Seidel still free despite doing this?”
“Golems aren’t considered magic that brings chaos to the world. So there’s no justification for stopping Seidel from using them.”
Soliel stroked her chin and continued,
“We can do anything and become anything. That’s what wizards are. It’s quite easy to become a being that can influence the world. So if one or two wizards were to intervene in world affairs, the course of history would change significantly. We don’t think that’s right. Ordinary humans are the mainstream of this world, and we believe it’s the natural order for them to determine their own destiny, even if they are ordinary. That’s the consensus among wizards. However…”
Soliel paused while the stone golem went around offering tea to everyone.
She took a sip of tea to wet her throat and then continued,
“There are wizards who don’t think that way. But the reason they don’t interfere in world affairs is that the wizards who oppose their views would surely retaliate. If that were to happen, it would inevitably lead to a conflict between wizards, not to mention the impact on world affairs. No wizard who isn’t a fool would pick a fight with another wizard. Of course, they might use magic discreetly. But as I said, for that reason, they don’t actively intervene.”
Soliel tilted her head from side to side, looking tired.
“What Seidel is doing is a bit ambiguous. What he’s doing now…”
“The problem for us is that he’s tracking me and Lily. The incident where Lily lost her memory before was also caused by a golem Seidel sent,” Casey added.
Soliel sipped her tea and lowered her gaze.
“Yes, it’s definitely a problem that he’s harming someone. I can convene a council of wizards to decide on Seidel’s punishment before things get out of hand.”
Lilliana’s face brightened at her words.
“So you can stop him?”
“Honestly, I’m not sure if it will work out. I told you, it could turn into a fight between wizards, and that’s something other wizards want to avoid. He hasn’t used any forbidden spells, and he hasn’t done anything significant with his golems yet.”
“He put me and Lily in danger, how is that not significant?!” Casey protested, and Soliel raised her hand to calm him down.
