Actually, I’m Very Afraid of Heights

In the forest

Luo Ruying swiftly flew through the forest canopy, carrying Ning Yechen, while Luo Hongye was nestled in a sling on her back.

To leave the forest quickly and efficiently, Luo Ruying had scooped Ning Yechen up in a princess carry and was now soaring through the air.

Ning Yechen initially wanted to ask Luo Ruying to put him down and travel on foot instead.

But being held in her arms felt so comfortable that he quickly dismissed the idea…

As Luo Ruying hurried along, she vigilantly scanned the surrounding forest, wary of enemies or demonic beasts.

Strangely, before she arrived, she could sense the presence of many demonic beasts in the forest, but now she couldn’t detect a single trace of them…

Had the demonic beasts all left…?

“There will be lots of delicious food and fun things to do~!”

Luo Hongye’s eyes lit up, and her face was filled with anticipation.

“Can Ye Ye eat them…?”

“Of course!”

“Our Ye Ye can eat whatever she wants!”

Ning Yechen assured her confidently.

“Yay~!”

“Then Ye Ye wants to go on a trip with Mommy and Daddy~”

Luo Hongye beamed, her happiness evident in her excited movements.

Luo Ruying looked at the father and daughter with a helpless yet affectionate smile. She whispered in Ning Yechen’s ear:

“You’re spoiling her too much.”

“Hmm? Is that bad?”

“Or is my wife jealous?”

Ning Yechen asked with a smile, looking at Luo Ruying.

Luo Ruying blushed, shooting Ning Yechen a playful glare.

“That’s not what I meant…!”

What was this guy thinking…!

He always said such frivolous things without changing his expression. She might just throw him off from the sky!

How could she possibly be jealous of her own child…?

Ning Yechen’s lips curled into a slight smile. He suddenly wrapped his arm around Luo Ruying’s waist and snuggled closer to her.

Luo Ruying was startled and asked in a low voice:

“What, what are you doing…!”

“Wife, actually, I’m very afraid of heights!”

“I’m feeling a bit unwell right now. Only by holding you can I feel safe!”

Ning Yechen said with a serious and earnest expression.

He then pretended to feel unwell, closed his eyes, and leaned his head against Luo Ruying’s chest…

Hmm… so soft and fragrant…

This, this guy… was he really afraid of heights?

Why hadn’t he mentioned it before?!

Luo Ruying blushed, her lips pursed as she looked down at Ning Yechen in her arms, feeling very skeptical!

Daddy had been whispering to Mommy the whole time…

She suddenly felt that this guy must be faking it!

However, just then, Ning Yechen suddenly opened his eyes and changed his mind.

“Wife, please put me down for a moment.”

Luo Ruying quickly descended from the sky and asked again with concern:

“Are you alright?”

“I’m fine, I just need to use the restroom~”

Ning Yechen said, scratching his head with an embarrassed expression.

He was just trying to find an excuse to get away from her for a bit, but she was offering to accompany him to the restroom?!

Luo Ruying also realized that her words could be easily misunderstood. She quickly explained, flustered:

“I’m just worried that there might be wild beasts or demonic beasts in the forest, and I don’t feel comfortable letting you go alone…”

“You and our child can wait for me here.”

“I’ll be back soon.”

Although Luo Ruying was still a bit worried, she was too embarrassed to follow him.

After sensing that there were no wild beasts or demonic beasts nearby, she obediently waited where she was.

“All of you, come out.”

The surrounding forest was silent; there was no response.

Ning Yechen’s expression turned serious. He reached out and plunged his hand into the void!

Like a mirror, the void cracked as his hand pierced through, shattering the space around it!

Ning Yechen slowly pulled a man, his face covered in strange black markings, out of the void.

The man’s face was filled with terror as he struggled to break free.

He couldn’t believe that he had been found even while hiding in a crack in the void!
