Chapter 49
I Am Back
A flash of cold steel, and two more heads flew into the air, their eyes still filled with the terror of death.
The headless bodies collapsed onto the ground, blood gushing forth, painting the floor in a gruesome crimson pool.
Lu Chengfeng calmly walked towards Xiuzhu, ignoring her alluring naked form. He squatted down slightly, reached out, and gripped her throat. With a sudden squeeze, the woman gasped for air, forcefully awakened from her unconscious state.
He loosened his grip slightly, and Xiuzhu coughed violently, gasping for breath. She didn’t dare look up at Lu Chengfeng, her body trembling uncontrollably.
“You are indeed a beauty,” Lu Chengfeng said in a flat tone. “Xiao has given you to me. What about you? Are you willing to be my concubine?”
Upon hearing this, Xiuzhu’s eyes lit up with ecstasy. She nodded frantically and said, “I’m willing, I’m willing! As long as you don’t kill me, I’ll do anything you ask.”
As soon as she spoke, Lu Chengfeng felt a golden light bloom between his eyebrows, like a flame igniting.
“In that case, you can die too!”
Swish!
The sword flashed, blood splattered, and another body fell, collapsing into the pool of blood.
“It’s a pity it’s raining. Otherwise, I could burn this building down and be done with it.”
Lu Chengfeng knew he had left many clues at the scene: footprints and handprints stained with blood and rainwater, and the sword wounds on the bodies.
There were even some obscure techniques that could greatly enhance one’s sense of smell, allowing them to track his scent from the residual Qi in the room.
But he didn’t care at all!
Zhao Changzhen’s death had made him see the rules of the sect clearly. The so-called 108 Outer Peaks of Cloud Firmament, though also called disciples of the Cloud Firmament Sect, were more like hired experts and thugs.
Maintaining superficial order was already difficult enough. Behind the scenes, there were countless killings, schemes, and power struggles. The 108 Outer Peaks had become a sieve, infiltrated by spies and agents from who knows how many other factions.
Zhao Changzhen had been dead for so long, yet the sect had yet to provide any explanation. They simply followed the rules and issued compensation, promising to investigate the truth. That was already considered good.
“This is the Martial World. The law of the jungle prevails!”
“Only the weak need to follow the rules. The strong break the rules and establish their own.”
Lu Chengfeng calmly pulled the blanket from the bed and meticulously wiped the sticky blood from his sword. Then, with a clang, he sheathed it.
When he eradicated the Black Wind Bandits, his methods were even more ruthless and cruel than now, but unfortunately, no one had witnessed it.
Only Li Mofeng had seen a glimpse of it, and as a child, he had been so terrified that he woke up from nightmares for days.
Lu Chengfeng had stayed by his bedside for three days and nights, even inviting a physician to administer medicine, before he gradually recovered.
Who would have thought that this seemingly handsome and sunny young man of twenty had such a fierce and brutal side?
Lu Chengfeng dragged the corpses together, threw some flammable blankets and clothes on top, and then used a fire starter to ignite them.
Seeing the flames burning fiercely, growing more and more intense, and even the wooden floor of the building starting to char, he opened the window, braving the sudden gust of wind and cold rain, and leaped out.
In the instant he jumped from the window, he didn’t forget to backhand his sword, using the scabbard to firmly close the window again.
He flipped a few times in mid-air, facing the wind and rain, then landed lightly. Lu Chengfeng swiftly made his way down the mountain in the darkness.
Behind him, the flames in the three-story building grew stronger and stronger, finally attracting the attention of the servants downstairs. Someone shouted in panic, “Fire! Fire!”
But Lu Chengfeng’s figure had long since vanished into the vast night.
But he didn’t return directly to Bixia Peak. Instead, he went to a pond not far from Azure Dragon Peak under the cover of night and jumped in. A large swathe of blood spread in the water.
Lu Chengfeng took off all his clothes and meticulously washed himself from head to toe in the water. Then, he swam along the pond’s undercurrent for a distance before emerging from another small stream.
He stepped onto the shore, completely naked, and retrieved a set of clothes he had prepared beforehand from a hidden crevice in the rocks. With a chuckle, he picked up his sword and headed home.
After this, most of the traces were eliminated, and the trail ended at the pond.
Even if the sect investigated and suspected him, he was now a True Disciple of the Inner Peaks. The death of a mere Outer Peak elder, without solid evidence, wouldn’t even warrant summoning him for questioning.
This was the difference between Inner and Outer!
Lu Chengfeng’s actions weren’t impulsive. He had been secretly planning this for over half a month, carefully considering the timing, route, and escape method.
The pond, the undercurrent, and the clothes were all part of his preparations.
Killing under the cover of night, everything went smoothly without a hitch.
Lu Chengfeng, sword in hand, braved the wind and rain, traveling for a long time before finally returning to Bixia Peak.
When he reached his courtyard, the window was still lit with a dim yellow light. Lu Chengfeng’s heart warmed, knowing that Luo Suyi was waiting for him.
He tilted his head and sniffed himself. Although he was drenched from the rain, there was no trace of blood on him. Relieved, he walked to the door.
“Suyi, I’m back!”
The door clicked open, and Luo Suyi, hearing the sound, rushed over with delight.
“Husband, you’re back?!”
Seeing that Lu Chengfeng was soaked, she couldn’t help but complain, “It’s raining so heavily, why did you come back like this? Even if you couldn’t avoid the rain, you could have found an oil-paper umbrella or a straw raincoat…”
Lu Chengfeng listened to her nagging, the chill from the rainwater gradually dissipating. “I missed you, that’s why.”
Hearing this, Luo Suyi, though knowing he was just coaxing her, couldn’t help but feel happy. A smile bloomed on her face.
“Quickly take off your wet clothes, take a hot bath, and drink a bowl of ginger soup. Be careful not to catch a cold.”
Lu Chengfeng let her take charge. Although with his current level of inner energy cultivation, it was impossible for him to catch a cold, he cherished her care.
Outside, the wind and rain intensified. The young couple chatted and laughed under the dim yellow light, busying themselves for a while before finally lying in bed together.
Luo Suyi nestled in her husband’s arms, feeling warm and safe. She placed her hand on his chest and asked dependently, “Husband, do you have to leave again early tomorrow morning? When will your mission end?”
“No, I’m not leaving. I’m back for good. The sect’s mission is over,” Lu Chengfeng said, his hand gently caressing her soft skin.
“Really?” Luo Suyi’s eyes lit up with joy. “That’s wonderful!”
“Of course it’s true. Would I lie to you?” Lu Chengfeng playfully slapped her rounded buttocks, causing her to moan softly, her eyes brimming with desire.
Luo Suyi couldn’t help but lick his chest with the tip of her tongue, sending a shiver down his spine.
She tilted her head up slightly, looking at her husband with a seductive gaze. “Husband…”
Lu Chengfeng couldn’t resist her charm. The longer they were together, the more he felt she was a temptress.
“Go on, get on your knees!” he commanded, giving her buttocks another playful slap.
Luo Suyi obediently complied…
…
The rain intensified, finally stopping as dawn approached.
